Agency and self referrals

How to refer

The IDSVA service

The IDSVA Service work with victims of domestic and sexual violence/abuse who have been assessed as high risk (gold) of serious injury or murder by their partner, ex-partner or family member. IDSVAs work with male and female victims aged 16 years and over.

The IDSVA Service does not accept direct referrals – all referrals to IDSVA must be referred to MARAC (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference) which automatically triggers a referral to the IDSVA Service.

There are three reasons you would make a referral to MARAC:

1. A score of 72 or more using MeRIT (Merseyside Risk Indicator Toolkit)
2. Escalation in frequency or severity of abuse/violence
3. Professional judgement

If you work for one of the following agencies or organisations you will have a MARAC Rep; if you have concerns about someone you are working with and want to refer them to MARAC please speak to your representative and they will take the information from you and make the referral to MARAC. They will share any information you give them on the referral and at the MARAC meeting and should feed back to you any relevant information shared at MARAC by other agencies. MARAC Partner Agencies:
